What Percentage of Americans Are Drug Addicts? What Percentage Use Drugs Regularly or Casually?
Question by Newcomer: What percentage of Americans are drug addicts? What percentage use drugs regularly or casually?
Is your answer just a guess or based on actual statistics. Why do you think so many people have the need to “get high”? I feel drug use only adds to the underlying problems that drive one to drug use in the first place. (I’m relating to so-called hard drugs, alcohol, and prescription drug abuse – have I left anything out?)

If anybody “needs” to get high, they are in trouble, and probably in denial. I usually get tons of thumbs down with that answer but, I’ve seen the aftermath of those in denial. It’s not pretty.
