I’m currently in early recovery from drug addiction but my parents don’t quite understand addiction and i don’t know how to explain it to them. Does anyone know if there’s any good books about it that i can buy for them to help them understand more?

ALSO take them to a meeting. Its a must for the families of recovering addicts. They can also go to ALANON meetings which is a support group for the families of addicts and recovering addicts.

Yes, there are a lot of good books that break addictions down so that it’s easier for everyone to understand. I can’t recommend any from personal experience but I did use Addictions for Dummies for a class project a few years ago and I found that it laid everything out nicely and was a very easy read. well theres a book called crank by ellen hopkins its about a girl whos a meth addict. i think it does a pretty good job explaining it
