Can Teenagers Be Prescribed Vicodin or Other Drugs Like That?

Question by aklgh: Can Teenagers Be Prescribed Vicodin or other drugs like that?
[rewrite]I’m 16 with my birthday coming up and a few months ago I hurt my back really bad. I visited the doctor and he didn’t do much but x-ray it. My friends knew about it and they gave me some vicodin and they helped a lot. I know teens abuse drugs but I’m just wondering if I could be given a prescription by my doctor?

I’m pretty sure. My friend and my brother were both prescribed Vicodin, but I can’t remember if they were 17 or 18 at the time. I’m thinking 17 for my friend, 18 for my brother.

If your doctor doesn’t help, threaten to switch to another. Living with pain is not a joke.

Yes. When I was 13 I got Vicodin for having a root canal. I became slightly addicted after using a 20 pills correctly. I quit when they were gone, but I wanted more. If I could have gotten more, I would have.
