if you’re abusing a drug, chances are you know what you’re doing and you wouldn’t misuse. but some users aren’t very smart, so it could possibly be interchangeable.

Drug misuse could mean a person is not taking it as directed by a physician; like skipping doses, not taking all the pills as directed. When taken for health reasons.
So, I think they are different.

Abuse is when the drug is being taken too often or taken by someone that it is not prescribed for. Just to feel the effects of the drug and not for health reasons.
