How Do People Get Jobs as Counselors for Corporations?
Question by just me: How do people get jobs as counselors for corporations?
Some places of employment, usually big corporations like Best Buy and Wal*Mart, will offer a hotline for their employees to call if they need someone to talk to about issues in their lives. Who do these counselors work for? How did they get that job? If anyone has info, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

You need to contact a company that specializes in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). Check your yellow pages for local providers.
To be employed by an EAP organization you would need an educational background in social services, credit counseling, financial planning, health and wellness, medical and substance abuse issues, addiction, stress management, grief counseling or a number of other issues that might adversely affect an employee.
