Lookin for Non-Profit Funding?
Question by Saretta c: Lookin for Non-Profit Funding?
A friend and I are looking to get her non-profit organinzation, The Hope and Help Crisis Center, up and running in Corinth, MS. She use to have it in Virginia Beach, but moved here a few years ago. The organization was established to help people who going through any sort of crisis such as: low on funds to pay the bills, just got out of prison and can’t find a job to start over, single moms trying to gain their independence from living off the government. We live in a town that seems to be full of people who have lost their drive. Too many young mothers, drug addiction, and just to many kids with no aspirations. Our concept is to be able to reach out and help the parents get their lives together so that the children have a better future and our town as a whole. If anyone knows of any grants or donors that might be interested in such a project please let me know. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated.
Let me note. All of the paperwork to be deemed tax exempt has been done. It has been an existing non-profit we have just changed the location.

Sorry but it is ILLEGAL for you to solicit funds till your nonprofit is granted tax exempt status. So start filling out the paper work with the IRS. Once you do that then you start looking a community grants.
