My Husband and I Have a Drug and Alcohol Problem.?
Question by Mary From Wyoming: My husband and I have a drug and alcohol problem.?
[rewrite]HIS problem is that he abuses drugs and is an alcoholic.
MY problem is that my husband is a dunk and a drug addict!
I am ready to leave him, we have been trying different programs and i have come to the conclusion that either those programs do not work or my husband is not trying as hard as he should be.
Either way, if something doesn’t work, if he doesn’t quit his BS, we are through and that’s that.

What is the question…sounds like you just want a sounding board.
Your question is more of a statement.
And good luck to you. If he values the relationship, at least he will try, but it’s very difficult to stop drug/alcohol abuse.
Yes it looks like you’ve made up your own mind already. I think we can all see where this is destroying your marriage but I doubt if any of us have the credentials to offer you the correct advice. I will say this though and I’m sure you already know it but Alcoholism is a disease and in most cases is inherited or genetically predisposed. This takes a lot of effort to beat the disease just like it does for any disease and it also take a whole lot of patience and understanding from the loved ones.
