[rewrite]He’s been addicted to drinking, oxycotin, and now heroin!!! I’m very scared for him. I know he is a grown man but what on earth can I do to help. He knows exactly where I stand on the subject. I offer for him to hangout with my husband and our friends to keep him out of trouble. But it’s no help. Are there rehabs that don’t cost anything up front?! Can I take him somewhere? He seems like he wants the help.

He’s a grown man who can make his own decisions but it’s nice to know at least someone cares about him. If you can’t get him into rehab, call the police on him as a last resort. Threaten to do so unless he gets the help he needs.

The sooner he gets help, the easier it will be for him to recover from his heroin addiction. Tell him this. His heroin addiction is only going to get worse for him if he waits. Not only will he be a full blown addict, he might even have to resort to selling drugs or prostitution to support his habit.

Don’t give up on him. I think he’s willing to change.

Heroin addiction is very serious. You can bring him to the emergency room for blood tests. They will have to hospitalize him in a rehab center if he has dangerous amounts of substances in his blood. If you don’t have insurance, the hospital can negotiate a price and payment plan for you.
Some churches or parishes offer drug or substance abuse treatment. Call any local parishes of yours and see if they offer a like program.
