Prescription Drug Addiction?

Question by Joe: Prescription Drug Addiction? [rewrite]I think that I might have a prescription drug addiction. Please Help!!! [/rewrite] Best answer: [rewrite] Answer by busylady0615well, it depends on what it is. if it is a painkiller (probably, those are the most addictive) then you should go to your dr. let them know and they can help you safely stop taking the drug without severe withdrawl syptoms. also, they can make sure you never get it or it’s relatives again to renew your problem. i know it seems scary to never have it again, but if you really want help then do it!    Read more... ...

My Sister Was Recently Diagnosed With Psychosis. How Can I Get Her to Talk?

Question by Curious Student: My sister was recently diagnosed with psychosis. How can I get her to talk? [rewrite]Background: Since her last hospitalization at Harborview Medical Center on July 23rd, I noticed that my 26-year-old sister has quit talking to everyone in the family. She doesn’t even sing like she used to, refuses to take a bath, wants to stay in bed all day, and refuses to talk. The reason she was hospitalized was that she starved herself for nearly 30 days and denied herself water for about 5 days. She had to given fluids and nutrients via a tube. According to the doctors, she was near death despite being 175 lbs.    Read more... ...

She has suffered from anxiety in the past which has seemingly ceased. She is prescribed Xanax and Klonopin. She has admitted to lying about her anxiety to her doctor. She said she exaggerates mostly everything. Over the past year I have seen her weight drop by nearly 20lbs and her mood is mostly crabby when she is not on “enough” pills. She also buys Oxycontin nearly 2-3x a week mixed with xanax and klonopin. She frequently also drinks on these pills and acknowledges her like for the pills. When we go out she is in the corner passed out cold. Sometimes it can happen in an instant and she is in a deep sleep, sometimes she struggles to keep her eyes open. Is there anyway I can make this known to her doctor? I know there is a patient confidentiality deal here but what would you do? She has gotten worse and it i ...

*Urgent! What Insurance Plans Cover “Passages Malibu” Drug Treatment Center?

Question by Shaina: *urgent! what insurance plans cover “passages malibu” drug treatment center? [rewrite]If you have been there or just know the list of what plans are accepted, please please let me know…. this means Life or Death. thank you soooo much!!! [/rewrite] Best answer: [rewrite] Answer by sunshine girlI would be surprised if that particular place is covered. In my experience those kinds of treatment centers that claim to “cure” addiction are nothing more than a relaxing vacation for the addicts. If you or someone you know is looking for a real rehab center focus on one with strong support networks for the patient and a good program based on the 12 steps. Addiction is not something you cure in a couple months, it’s a life long disease that can resurface at any point.    Read more... ...
