No. It is their job to diagnose you and to treat you in any way possible. It is a good thing to mention to your doctor if you had recently consumed or used any form of alcohol or drug to help with diagnosis, but they legally cannot turn you in as it is part of their doctor-patient confidentiality guidelines.

Do You Think Homosexuality Is a Gene That Scientists Need to Fix?

Question by PLANET MAN: Do you think homosexuality is a gene that scientists need to fix?
SCIENTISTS are hard at work to try to find genetic causes for alcoholism, drug addiction, promiscuity, violence, other aberrant behavior, and even for death itself. Would it not be a relief to find that we are not responsible for our actions but are merely victims of biology? It is human nature to blame someone or something else for our errors.

If the genes are to blame, scientists hold out the possibility of changing them, eliminating undesirable traits through genetic engineering. The recent success in mapping the entire human genome has given such aspirations new impetus.

Would Prop 19 for Legalizing Marijuana Have a Better Chance of Passing in Oregon or Washington State?

Question by Alkohollokaust: Would prop 19 for legalizing marijuana have a better chance of passing in Oregon or Washington state?
those states are far more liberal than California? Oregon is so liberal that they legalized assisted suicide where every other state Christians shove their religious crap down everyones throat. Washington has Seattle and has the Hemp Hest where they let pot smoking hippies smoke that crap even though its still illegal there but tolerated to some degree.

Would Marijuana more likely be legalized in those states than California? Or not?

What Is Better When It Comes to Drug Abuse? Drug Prevention (Programs Like DARE) or Drug Treatment (Rehab)?

Question by Daewon_ton: What is better when it comes to drug abuse? Drug prevention (programs like DARE) or drug treatment (rehab)?

Best answer:

Answer by Gary B
It is MUCH better to not get hooked in the first place, than to try to get “unhooked”. In other words DARE is better than rehab,

Since the drugs really screw up your sense of reason, much damage is done BEFORE the user finally gets to the point that rehab will help. In fact, may junkies DIE (OD or get killed) before they ever reach the point of wanting rehab.
