Do You Believe That Drug Addiction Is Filling a Void?
Question by Theory: do you believe that drug addiction is filling a void?
i believe that drug addiction is either a filler or a crutch. meaning, every drug addict is either using his drug of choice to fill a void in their life, OR to run away from something.
i know because i used to be a drug addict myself, and i’ve relapsed 2 days ago.
prior to relapsing i was clean for over a year. then suddenly a few weeks ago all my friends left me and my girlfriend left me (for unrelated reasons). both have no desire to talk to me.

Inpatient Drug Rehab in NYC/5 Boroughs?
Question by jej: Inpatient drug rehab in NYC/5 boroughs?
I have a friend who is ready to check into a rehab for his drug addiction, however, he is on methadone maintenance and does not want to quit it. I was told by a rehab center in NYC that no New York state inpatient program will accept a methadone patient if they are on more than 40 milligrams, then a mental health clinician told me that is not true. Does anyone know of an inpatient program in the 5 boroughs or Westchester County NY that will allow him to be maintained on methadone? I googled but could not find much. Thanks.

You’re question talks about an addiction but you don’t want to seem to be a “drug seeker.” Talk to your doctor or someone you will trust and listen to if they tell you to seek help.
