you should always be honest. regardless what people say, eventually they will issue a background check verifying all of the information you put down, and when they figure out your lies, not only will you be expelled, but you will never be able to attend another school. wouldn’t you rather tell the truth and face the consequences right then, rather than sneaking around hoping you never get caught?
How Is It Possible to Absolutely Categorize Alcoholim as a Disease and Not an Illness?
Question by denveryay: How is it possible to absolutely categorize Alcoholim as a disease and not an illness?
“Disease” is a very loosely defined term in many respects. There are multiple disorders, infenctions, and symptoms that can be typical of a definable disease. Also, a disease must have specific and constant cause(s), which in the case of Alcoholism is the CHOICE to drink ethyl-alcohol. The cause of the “disease” is the recurring and disregarding CHOICE to drink. A choice, however pathological or illogical, doesn’t seem to be appropriate as a cause or a condition of any disease. Despite the negative psychological, physiological, and other results of long-term alcohol abuse, it seems that it shouldn’t be classified as anything more than a treatable mental disorder.

Why Is Drug Addiction Considered a Disease?
Question by fraucarlson: Why is drug addiction considered a disease?
I have a psychological disorder I was born with and inherited. I have a hard time equating what I have as similar to a drug addiction. I didn’t choose my path. So can someone explain to me why it’s considered a disease?

Answer by KIM!!
I guess because addictions are mental disorders. When someone is addicted.to something they really cannot stop. Stopping means they suffer. It hurts them physically to be without their drug. Because their brain has been convinced that they NEED this drug, alcohol, or food to survive. But I certainly understand why you would be frustrated when you have a disease that you were born with.
What the Hell Happened to My Friend When He Smoked a Joint?
Question by Dave S: What the hell happened to my friend when he smoked a joint?
My friend said he wanted to smoke some MJ for the first time so I gave him some for his first try. He called me early the next morning and told me that he had one of the worst experiences hed had in a long time. He said that after taking making 3 puffs from a joint that he started to feel lightheaded and suffered at first a mild anxiety attack. He said that after a while, the paranoia and anxiety had gotten so extreme that he had trouble sleeping and his heart was racing faster than it had ever been before. He said it took around 3-4 hours for the effects to wear off and he wasn’t the least bit “high”. Although i find this story hard to believe myself, he has never lied to me. I want to give him some advice but I don’t know if this was caused from some kind of an allergic reaction or what? I’m pretty concerned about his health as I have never even experienced slight paranoia from smoking.. and wondering why he had such an extreme panic attack… as he is usually laid back
