I’m working on a TV-movie script about the life of a drug rehab patient. I think it will be more realistic if I include some information about drug treatment programs and how they are conducted. I hope you can help me.

The Center of Disease Control reports that prescription medications are responsible for more overdose deaths than illegal substances such as cocaine and heroin. According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the number of people who find treatment for pain killer abuse increased fourfold in the span of a decade (1998 – 2008). The number of emergency room visits related to prescription medications also increased 97% in four years (2004 -2008). In 2009, an average of 6,027 individuals a day abused pain relievers for the first time.

Im 19 years old. I was raised by my parents till i was twelve. They where on oxycotin spent everything we had on the drugs. Then i moved out due to my dads paranoid schizophrenia. We lived in a small town in west va and he thought everyone was out to get him. But now i live in Petersburg Virginia and i have a job at Pizza hut that i hate, making 6.55 an hour.
Im addicted to oxycodone just as my parents where. Im so ashamed of myself. I have to pay my bills myself on top of my drug habit i have nothing to show for my money. I have no education i quite school to move away from my dad. I dont think my life will mount to anything. I have no one.. literally no one that cares about me. Therefor i have no one to help me.
I just need advice on how to get my life together. Maybe i should look for a wife who can help me or something.. i dont know im just lost and alone. I need to get my life together before my addiction gets out of hand. I can handle the addiction i basically need a way to get an education, take care of myself while im in school, and just someone who cares about me…

Here is a short version of events. We have had problems with her since about the end of 5th grade some typical teenage issues others more serious. She is determined to become emancipated, there is no physical or emotional abuse, no one uses drugs, we provide her a nice home in a nice neighorhood feed her and buy her clothing. We have had issues which concerned us over the last 2 years, twice she has used her dads credit cards without permission once to the tune of $ 1200.00 dollars (we returned everything) and disaplined her by grounding her and taking away her phone and internet for 2 weeks and explaining why this is criminal and wrong, 3 months later she did it to the tune of over $ 600.00. We told her one more time and charges would be filed. She invited a boy over with no adults present and tried to have sex with him, she backed out etc etc. and there have been other issues. She is not mature enough to take care of herself if she files we intend to tell the judge all this things that have happened. We are currently in family therapy trying to work through this. How does Virginia handle this??? Can she do this we are very concerned.
Also I lost my job in Oct 2009 so money is tight very tight and emotions are high. We are unable to put her on our insurance or buy her a car because of this situation and she is upset about that,she appears to have no friends.
We had no intention of buying her a car unless her grades and attitude improved so it wasnt going to happen now she just believes its because we cant afford it.
We dont want to emancipate her we are trying to help her. We need to have testing done for a personality disorder but dont have the funds right now.
