Is There Anyway to Get the Pregnancy Crisis Center to Change Their Policy?
Question by Linda Bluegull: Is there anyway to get the pregnancy crisis center to change their policy?
I don’t want to become a Christian just to please them. I doubt that the only women in need of their services are Christians. I’m not interested in prostelyzing. They won’t let me help but they still remind me to be a good Christian. Not interested. There aren’t any other agencies in my area and I want to save lives. Don’t you think they stress this policy to the detriment of our community? We’re not all Christians here and not all of us want to be but we still need help during a crisis.
How Do I Answer These Mental Health Questions When Joining the Marines?
Question by Jacob: How do I answer these mental health questions when joining the Marines?
When I was 15 my parents admitted me to a mental hospital due to behavioral issues, I stayed at this hospital for two days with no mental diagnosis. My predicament now is that i’m trying to join the marines and I am worried that that would show up at meps, should I lie about this ordeal and hope they don’t see this on my record or should I tell the truth and hope they do not deny me. Any insight would help thanks.
These are the questions I have to answer honestly,
1.Seen a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, counselor or other professional for any reason (inpatient or outpatient) including counseling or treatment for school, adjustment, family, marriage or any other problem, to include depression, or treatment for alcohol, drug or substance abuse
2.Any illnesses, surgery, or hospitalization not listed above
Job as Rehab Counselor / Qualifying as a Substance Abuse Professional?
Question by B!: Job as Rehab Counselor / Qualifying as a Substance Abuse Professional?
I’m a psychology major at school, going into my last leg of undergrad schooling. I’ve known for a long time that I want to work with drug abuse/rehabilitation (my brother is a recovered heroin addict), and I was curious:
What is required to get a job as a rehab counselor and is the pay alright? Are there any other jobs you can recommend for a psych student who wants to work in this field?
Also, what goes into qualifying as a substance abuse professional?
How Effective Are Substance Abuse Treatments?
Question by scarlet j: How effective are substance abuse treatments?
I have recently convinced my husband to undergo a substance abuse treatment, and now I am searching for an addiction center that will fit him. But just a few days ago, a friend of mine called me, and said that his son went back to using drugs after two months of abstinence. Now, that gives me doubts if treatment programs can effectively help my husband. Is relapse a normal occurrence? Will I keep my trust on addiction treatment programs?
