My Ex Bf Is on Drugs Lives in West Virginia I Live 3 Hrs Away in Pa I Need Custody Advice for Newborn Due May.?

Question by Brandy: My ex bf is on drugs lives in west virginia I live 3 hrs away in Pa I need custody advice for newborn due May.?
My son is due on May 16 via c-section my questions are after we do a paternity test. Do I then file for full custody and child support. Cause the Dad comes from a good family he is just not a good person. He does drugs and I have text of him admitting to using and admitting to selling and pictures of him smoking a blunt and out of a bong and he got caught with 5lbs of Marijuana Jan of 2010 but says he is gonna walk cause his uncles a lawyer and he has connections. Also he is from West Virginia I live 3 hrs away in Pennsylvania So what I wanna know is when I file for custody and if they grant me full custody because of the drug charge how do I get the judge to drug test the dad before visits and have them supervised because he still uses and it’s not just weed it’s anything he can get his hands on. And he thinks it’s ok to use around a baby he told me this while we were still together. And he has had three car wrecks last ur from being on drugs. The only thing is he uses that flush to clean his system out so his test are neg. and I know this cause he gets tested for work and actually failed on in sept and got kicked off of the job. Any insight would be great on what I can do to protect my son.

If a Parent Loses the Rights to Their Child, Do Grand Parents Lose Too?

Question by Jamie, FNP: If a parent loses the rights to their child, do grand parents lose too?
The grandparents are upstanding citizens, moral Christians that have done nothing but love their children and grand children. They tried to stop the drug use when the kid was young and then she lived in another state.
Does your state have grandparents rights? West Virginia doesn’t.

I dont think ours does either. If grandparents want to see there grandchildren then they need to make it known. Trying to stop it when the kid was young isnt helping the situation after shes already had a couple of kids. Youd really just have to check around and find a really good lawyer

My friends spouse is threatening to call her work and say she has been using drugs. She works for an establishment with a 0% drug tolerance policy. Would that be slander or grounds for her employer to drug test. We live in West Virginia.

Virginia Custody Question?

Question by DrSasha: Virginia Custody Question?
I have sole custody of our six children. My ex husband doesn’t like paying child support and wants joint custody. For a numerous reasons, this is NOT what’s best for our children, ages 4-12. I have no record, abuse, alcohol, or drug issues. What are his chances if it goes to court?
I still encourage frequent visitation with their dad. He has never been an active parent and I have been the primary caregiver for 12 years. The instability in insecurities arising are negatively impacting the children.

I know selling liquor, drugs, porn, weapons are bad.

How about selling used video games, Used clothing, used electronics? Stuff not needed in the house anymore.
