The patches work well. I used them. But they didn’t help me mentally because I really enjoyed smoking. The taste, the feel of the smoke going into my lungs…I didn’t have any of that with the patch. You won’t have the physical withdrawals anyhow. Good luck. It’s tough. I still crave cigarettes every single day and it has been more than 10 years since I quit. If it weren’t for God, I’d be smoking right now.

Extensive research has shown that behavioral and pharmacological treatments for nicotine addiction do work!

Nicotine replacement therapies, such as nicotine gum, the transdermal patch, nicotine lozenges, nasal spray, and inhaler, have been approved for use in the United States. They are all used to relieve withdrawal symptoms, produce less severe physiological alterations than tobacco-based systems, and generally provide users with lower overall nicotine levels than they receive with tobacco. An added benefit is that these forms of nicotine have little abuse potential since they do not produce the pleasurable effects of tobacco products. Nor do they contain the carcinogens and gases associated with tobacco smoke.

Just do it right……..Why not smoke and take pills or patches instead…………You haven’t quit your just smoking in a different way. I had my friends smoking in front of me and I quit when smoking was still allowed in clubs………….Just stop…..It’s not easy but once you make it’s funny to see your friends that made fun of you still smoking after 18 years of not smoking as in my case………….I cold turkeyed Heroin, Methamphetamine, Crack, and cigarettes………….I must say out of all my addictions smoking was the hardest……..Just stop…after three months it’s down hill
