What Is the Name of the Act That Will Force Someone to Get Help From Drugs and Alcohol Abuse?
Question by Lothar of the Hill People: What is the name of the act that will force someone to get help from drugs and alcohol abuse?
[rewrite]It’s the one where you can force someone into a inpatient treatment clinic to get help. Thanks.
There is a law on the books that allows a judge to force someone into treatment for drug and alcohol abuse.
It’s very similar to the Baker Act.

interventions are used to convince ppl they need help…but i don’t think you can force someone to seek help. they have to realize they need it themselves.

I don’t know? Sometimes with the help of a doctor you can get a n order for commitment done. If the person has children you can call the police and have them do a health and welfare check. or are you asking about a rule 2 which is an assessment that the county give to see if a person is down and out enough for the county to pay for a treatment stay? If you find out let me know. It is a very hard thing to do because you cannot control anyone but at the same time how can you sit around and watch a loved one kill them selves.
